Cedar Heights to Mishmish

The Tannaci Family has successfully arrived in Kaust, Saudi Arabia.  But not without some effort.  We were very busy waiting for our Visas and had to create a plan A / plan B.  Plan A was that our Visas would arrive before our departure date and we would be flying out of LAX on Sunday Sept. 7th.  Plan B was our Visas would not arrive and we would head to my parents house awaiting their arrival.

While we waited for our Visas, the packers came on Wednesday Sept. 3rd.  Then the movers came on Thursday, Sept. 4th and moved our things to storage. Then the shippers came on Friday, Sept 5th. Finally on Sat. Sept 6th our Visas came and we were booked for a flight out on Sunday at 9:40 pm. It was great to get together with our awesome neighbors during that time for swimming and dinner.  We had a nice visit Saturday night with my parents as they so kindly transported us and our 7 suitcases, 6 carry-ons and one double Bob stroller to the airport on Sunday.

The girls were amazing on the 10 hour flight to London.  They slept the entire way.  Thanks to Kaust, we traveled business class and the seats laid all the way flat.

Also, thanks to Kaust and business class, we were able to relax in the British Airways lounge.  Which was a great reprieve for our 6 hour layover in London.  Then we continued on to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with a 10:30 pm flight out of London.  Although this was technically a red-eye, the only person who slept was Michelle for a small nap.  We arrived in Jeddah at 6:45 am.  I dawned my Abaya, exited the plane and we were greeted by a Kaust representative who escorted us through customs, helped us collect our baggage and delivered us to the two cars waiting to drive us and all our baggage to Kaust.

After about a 50 min. drive and some paperwork at the Kaust Security building, we headed out to see what is our new home here in Saudi Arabia on Mishmish Lane.

Most importantly at the time, we saw our new beds and crashed!
